NOMADES – Opening Workshop in Leipzig

As a German partner, AOM is part of the European exchange programme OMADES (New Organisation for Musical Arts and Development in Empowering Schools). We reported about this at the end of last year.

From 16 to 19 February 2026, all participating young people and teachers from Germany, Portugal and France came together in Leipzig. In addition to the joint workshop sessions, everyone also explored our wonderful city of music together. So the Visit to the Bach Museum, A A walk on the music trail as well as visits to artistic centres such as Horn's heirs and the Cotton spinning mill on the programme.

There is a more detailed insight into this experience on the project's BLOG:

A quote from the BLOG as a little taster of these truly marvellous days of exchange in Leipzig:
Walking these streets in winter conditions gave the experience a unique atmosphere. Snow-covered squares, silent courtyards and historic façades contrasted with the lively stories of composers, performances and premieres that once animated these same places. The route revealed how music is deeply embedded in the urban fabric of Leipzig, not confined to concert halls but present in churches, homes, schools and public spaces.
