The recorder is one of the most popular woodwind instruments. There are many arguments in favour of the instrument: good sounding instruments can be acquired at a small price, learning the basics is relatively easy, and physical activity is also maintained, as breathing must be controlled and regulated by the diaphragm. There is an endless amount of literature for all levels of difficulty, especially from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The recorder can be played solo, in duets, in wind ensembles, or in an orchestra.
