The double bass, also known as the bass violin, is the largest and deepest string instrument and therefore forms the foundation of many pieces of music. Its range of use extends from folk music, rock and pop music, rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly, jazz and swing to the (chamber) orchestra. The double bass is the all-rounder of the string instruments and, in addition to its use in bands and orchestras, also comes into its own as a solo instrument. For this, it is tuned higher than its normal range. So that children can also take double bass lessons, there are eighth, quarter and half basses - depending on the height of the child. Do you offer double bass lessons for children?
Opposites attract - here too. If your child really wants to play the big double bass, our trained music teachers will be happy to advise you on Eighth, quarter or half basses. So even little bassists can play big notes.

Can I learn to play the double bass with you as a beginner?
Whether plucked or bowed: Eliciting sounds from the double bass is easy. Melodies can be developed quickly by plucking the strings. Once you have developed a certain confidence in playing the large instrument, finding melody notes on the fingerboard and bowing your first chords is no longer difficult.
