The STADTTEILOPER LEIPZIG enables children to experience and create opera. From the creation of the libretto to the design of stage sets, props and costumes to musical and acting roles - here everyone finds a suitable place to participate in a complete work of art.
Over a period of almost three years, from 2020 to 2022, a play was developed by children and young people themselves under the guidance of professionals, which will premiere on the stage of the Musikalische Komödie in Leipzig's Lindenau district and develop a supra-regional appeal - the first STADTTEILOPER LEIPZIG.
In co-operation with professional musicians and artists the actors learnt about focus and teamwork, concentration and self-motivation, overcoming setbacks and perseverance, self-confidence and mutual appreciation, stage presence and courage.
Pupils, parents, teachers and the neighbourhood were involved in as many aspects of the opera as possible, depending on their wishes and talents. This is how the theme of the STADTTEILOPER was developed together.
